19-1 is a depiction of Cuisenaire Rods 3 times the size of there actual size.
The fist layer has gone down on this commission for Maddi and Liam, a Melbourne based couple whose anniversary date is the 19th. I sent Maddi and Liam several options of rod layouts at 19 and this was their choice. They have also chosen their background colour to suite their decor.

The Banks of Block Town is currently curing, waiting for its varnish coat to be ready for sale. The pastel blocks on a dark background with deep shadows create a moody and almost imposing scene. Light comes into the scene from the right with the centre of the painting being the point of perspective so that sides of the block building appear as if you were standing on the street in front of an actual building. The central perspective provides the viewer with a feeling of 3D within the scene.
